Italian-Canadian Soprano Lucia Cesaroni recently made her Spoleto Festival dei Due Mondi debut with Maestro James Conlon as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro. She will reprise the role at Teatro Coccia di Novara in 2017 and Teatro Alighieri di Ravenna in 2018. Lucia has appeared with The Steans Institute at The Ravinia Festival, The Royal Philharmonic, The Victoria Symphony, The Montreal Symphony, Vancouver Opera, Pacific Opera Victoria, The Kingston Symphony, The Aldeburgh Festival in England, Off-Centre Music Salon at the Glenn Gould Studio, Toronto Operetta Theatre, Opera 5, and L’Opéra de Montréal. Lucia’s roles include Maria/West Side Story, Adina/L’Elisir d’amore, both Mimi and Musetta/La Bohème, Micaela/Carmen, Gilda/Rigoletto, Juliette/Roméo et Juliette, Liu/Turandot, Lucia/The Rape of Lucretia, Pamina/Die Zauberflöte, Anne Trulove/The Rake’s Progress, Cleopatra/Giulio Cesare, Yum-Yum/The Mikado, and Woglinde/Das Rheingold. Recently, Lucia sang the title role of Isis and Osiris for its world premiere with Voicebox: Opera in Concert in Toronto. Upcoming appearances include Micaela in La Tragédie de Carmen with the Bay Chamber Concert Series in Maine and Musetta in La Bohème with L’Opéra de Montréal. Next season, Lucia will sing Erste Dame in Die Zauberfloete with Rete Lirica delle Marche in Italy, and return to Spoleto for their 60th Anniversary season for her role debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni.
